IDC University Curriculum
Power Transmission Principles Course (PTP)
A three-day intensive study into the world of power transmission. This course is designed for inside and outside sales people from beginners to those with years of power transmission experience. The simple physics and concepts of power are discussed, demonstrated, and reviewed. General characteristics of products are discussed, as well as, selection of product for specific applications reviewing advantages and disadvantages in certain applications. NEMA standards and physical interchange of frame sizes are also covered.

Bearings 101
A one-day, in-depth look into the world of bearings. Students will learn about the history of bearings, the components that make up a bearing, the different types of bearings, and the various applications.

Bulk Material Handling Course
IDC University's Bulk Material Handling course is a four-day intensive study into the various types of conveyors and bucket elevators. This course introduces students to the bulk material handling industry and the details behind the design and application of Screw Conveyors, Bucket Elevators, Drag Conveyors, and Belt Conveyors. Throughout the course, students will learn about various bulk materials and how to classify them by CEMA standards. Resources available for designing and selling screw conveyors, bucket elevators, drag conveyors and belt conveyors will be covered.
Students will increase their knowledge with exposure to a wide variety of bulk material handling applications in the industry today. This newfound knowledge will allow them to offer value-added products and services to their customers while increasing their territory sales.

Bearings 201: Bearing Application & Life Laboratories Course
A two day comprehensive, distributor-directed course examining the vast, yet sometimes overlooked subject of bearings. Students will learn proper storage and handling practices as well as correct mounting and lubrication techniques. The causes of and solutions to many common bearing failures will be discussed. In-depth, industry-specific information on the subjects of electric motors, pumps, gearboxes and many other applications, including environments and their unique challenges, will be covered.
Because Bearings 201 is an interactive course, students will participate in several hands-on labs. Participants will acquire the tools to become well-versed in bearing applications and specifications. Information presented in this course can be applied to any bearing manufacturer.
